The Department of Pediatrics at Duke University Medical Center invites applications for the Program Director to lead the multispecialty Duke Childrens Immune Dysregulation Program (DCIDP). The mission of the DCIDP is to provide longitudinal medical care harmonizing cutting-edge diagnostics, novel medical treatments, and access to clinical and translational research for children and adolescents who have primary or secondary immune dysregulation. Qualified candidates will have a MD or equivalent degree, be board certified in Allergy Immunology, Pediatric Rheumatology, Medical Genetics, or Infectious disease, and have a history of academic excellence.

The Program Director position will focus on
  • Expanding the clinical care currently provided for patients with primary or secondary immune dysregulation and immune mediated conditions
  • Building on the immunology and genetic infrastructure required for ongoing discovery and innovation
  • Creating the future by pioneering collaborations that will transform the lives of our patients.

The program will complement and focus existing expertise in clinical and laboratory immunology from the divisions of Allergy and Immunology, Pediatric Rheumatology, Infectious Diseases, and Genetics. Ultimately, the goal is to apply an interdisciplinary team to transform the care of patients with immune dysfunction across the life span through innovative, patient-centered models of clinical care, discovery and novel therapeutics.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the evaluation and management of immune dysregulation patients. Clinical and research commitments are flexible depending on the candidates interests and training, but will include a component of clinical care evaluating and treating patients, leading a multi-specialty clinical and research program, and engaging with translational and basic scientists on innovative testing.

Faculty appointments and salary will be commensurate with the candidates academic record. The Department of Pediatrics offers a robust compensation plan that rewards clinical productivity. Additionally, faculty members enjoy Dukes generous benefit package including retirement plans, dental, vision, CME, moving allowances, and tuition assistance.
