The Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center of Northwell Health and The Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell seeks Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physicians to join our growing and thriving team. As the busiest Pediatric ED in NY state and the primary pediatric hospital for Queens and Nassau county we have the honor of taking care of a true diversity of complex patients in the most diversely populated area in the world. With our dedicated focus on meaningful academic research, candidates interested in research will be viewed more favorably. Those interested in being nocturnist will also be viewed more favorably.

Our PEM team consists of 27 attendings, 9 fellows, and 7 advance care providers. We are located on the Queens and Nassau County border, in close proximity to Manhattan. The department layout includes 33 individual patient exam rooms and 2 critical care/trauma bays. We are the busiest American College of Surgeons Pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center in NY state. Our total volume is approximately 65,000 visits a year. We have a dedicated behavioral health area, as well as a behavioral health urgicenter. Being part of the largest health system in NY assures a constant flow of interesting and complex transports daily. Our amazing and highly skilled nursing staff recently received the highest ranking in Magnet designation and was awarded the Lantern award from the Emergency Nurse’s Association. Amongst our staff are experts in Global Health, Child Abuse, Ultrasound, Emergency Management, Pediatric Transport, Trauma, Quality, Advocacy, and Research. 

The Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) treats over 230,000 children per year and serving 1.8 million children in Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. It is the tertiary pediatric medical center of Northwell Health, which constitutes 23 hospitals, and the only ACS Level-1 Pediatric Trauma Center on Long Island and NYC. Our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit has 37 beds and has the highest volume within the region covering all aspects of critical care.  We have the busiest Heme/Onc and bone marrow transplant service in all of NYC.  And we are extremely proud of our new and exclusive pediatric operating theater space and a 10 bedded Neuroscience unit which just opened in the fall.

Salary Disclosure

Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125K to $750K, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity. The base compensation range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
