Description:

We are seeking an experienced Interventional Cardiologist to lead the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory as a full-time faculty member in the Division of Cardiology of NYU Long Island School of Medicine.

The Director will be responsible for the strategic direction, operation, and administration of the cardiac catheterization laboratories including diagnostic, coronary, and peripheral intervention. In partnership with the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, promote collaborative success of the structural program including TAVR and percutaneous mitral valve procedures. The Division of Cardiology has fully accredited cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology fellowship programs. The successful candidate will work in a collegial environment that emphasizes multidisciplinary approaches to patient care and research, as well as dedication to medical education. The Director will enjoy ample opportunities to teach medical students, residents, and cardiology fellows. Research and other scholarly work is encouraged and supported proportionate to the skills and accomplishments of the clinician scientist. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Position Function Highlights:

  • Provide leadership, in collaboration with the Chief of Cardiology and the Director of Interventional Cardiology for the NYU Langone Health System, including integration with other programs and healthcare facilities on Long Island
  • Provide programmatic structure and facilitate new technologies and clinical trials
  • Provide education and training of NYU Langone Long Island cardiologists regarding adoption of new and emerging procedures
  • Lead initiatives relating to growth, quality, efficiency, integration, and enhancement of interventional cardiology to a position of regional prominence
  • Provide leadership and education for fellowships in Interventional Cardiology
  • Provide leadership in the development of the NYU Langone Long Island Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory research programs
  • In collaboration with the Chief, develop plans to grow overall volume and innovative offerings with the Division of Cardiology
