Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician
The Department of Pediatrics at Cohen Children’s Medical Center of Northwell Health and The Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell seeks a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team. We are looking for a partner to continue to innovate and provide the best pediatric emergency care available in the region. With our dedicated focus on meaningful academic research, candidates interested in research will be viewed more favorably.
Our PEM team consists of 27 attendings and nine fellows. We are located on the Queens and Nassau County border, in close proximity to NYC. The department layout includes 33 individual patient exam rooms and two Critical care / trauma bays. We are recognized by the American College of Surgeons as a Pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center, with the highest patient volume in NY state. Our volume (pre-COVID) was 60,000 visits a year. We have a dedicated behavioral health area, as well as a behavioral health urgicenter. Being part of the largest health system in NY assures a constant flow of interesting and complex transports daily. Our highly skilled nursing staff recently received the highest ranking in Magnet designation. Amongst our staff are experts in Global health, Child Abuse, Ultrasound, Emergency Management, Pediatric Transport, Trauma, Quality, Advocacy, and Research.
The Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center (CCMC) opened in 1983 as the New York metropolitan area’s only hospital designed exclusively for children. Today, it is the largest pediatric teaching hospital in the region, treating over 230,000 children per year and serving 1.8 million children in Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties. It is the tertiary pediatric medical center of the Northwell Health and the only Level-1 Pediatric Trauma Center on Long Island.
