The Department of Palliative and Supportive Care at Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Hospice and Palliative Medicine physician to serve as Medical Director for Cleveland Clinic Hospice. Cleveland Clinic Hospice serves 9 counties and Northeast Ohio and has an average daily census between 250-300 patients. This is a unique opportunity to lead hospice care within a highly regarded healthcare system and integrated Department of Palliative and Supportive Care. Ideal candidates will be fellowship trained in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, strong hospice clinicians, experienced in leading interdisciplinary teams, and possess outstanding communication skills. Candidates must be BC/BE in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and eligible for medical licensure in Ohio.

The role will include both clinical hospice care responsibilities and dedicated time for administrative responsibilities which include the following: 1. providing leadership for strategic development of the hospice program, 2. collaborating with Cleveland Clinic Hospices Administrator and Director of Nursing, 3. education of medical staff, nursing staff and trainees on best practices in symptom management at end-of-life, and 4. promoting hospice care throughout the Cleveland Clinic Health System. A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience is available at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. Opportunities to participate in research and quality improvement are also available.
