Nuvance Health, is seeking a Primary Care Physician (Internal Medicine) for Primary Care of Darien in Darien, CT. We are located in suburban Fairfield County just 40 miles from NYC. We are re-opening a successful well-established practice with opportunity for growth. At this practice you will work closely with one other physician and one APP colleague in a brand-new office, family friendly collegial work environment only 10 minutes from Norwalk Hospital and a wide array of subspecialty/ancillary services such as Radiology and Lab. There are additional opportunities for medical student teaching and faculty position with our affiliation with the University of Vermont. Additional opportunities in geriatric care in the area of Skilled Nursing facilities if interested. Leadership opportunity could be available for the right experienced Physician candidate. This is an employed position with Nuvance Health Medical Practice. Competitive total compensation package including base salary, incentive pay, paid time off, CME time off and allowance, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401k match and contribution. Hiring bonus and relocation stipend may also be available.

The ideal candidate will be a compassionate primary care physician who will provide comprehensive care in a team-based environment to our population of patients. This includes not only caring for acute and chronic conditions but working with multidisciplinary support staff to promote the health and well-being of our entire panel of covered lives. This as a full-time, office-based position providing outpatient services only, utilizing a state-of-the-art Electronic Health Record fully integrated across all our hospitals and sites.

  • Virtual scribes – to reduce charting time and enable clinicians to work top of license with more face-to-face time with their patients
  • Daily Management Systems to ensure collaboration and problem solving occurs at the practice level – the clinicians and support staff know how best to solve for complex challenges

Norwalk Hospital has 366 beds and is also a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 50,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are associated with University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our Medical Group includes 900+ employed physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.

Astride a hill with a commanding view of the Long Island Sound, Norwalk Hospital serves a varied and attractive region of Southern Connecticut. The hospital is just minutes from beautiful places to hike, swim, sail or just walk along the beach. Connecticut Magazine recently named South Norwalk as the “hottest” nightspot between Boston and New York City, with a plethora of theater groups and restaurants to choose from. New York City is easily accessible by car or train.

Job Requirements:

  • MD or DO with CT State License, Federal DEA and State Controlled Substance Registration
  • Have successfully completed an Internal Medicine Residency
  • Newly graduated residents are encouraged to apply but previous experience as a Primary Care physician required for the Lead role
  • Must be Board Certified or be Board Eligible
  • After-hour coverage – light call volume to physician, shared among multiple providers to decrease call frequency, phone-calls only (after nurse triages first line)
  • Full-time weekday 8-hour schedules between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday – Friday
