NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, located in the Bronx, accommodates more than 325,000 outpatient visits, more than 100,000 emergency room visits and more than 20,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital is renowned for The Trauma Center, staffed to treat any traumatic injury or illness, the fully accredited Breast Health Center, and The Burn Center, with more than 40 years of work in burn care. The hospital also serves patients of many other needs. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with Albert Einstein Medical College of Yeshiva University.

NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx handle more than 156,000 outpatient visits, more than 50,000 emergency room visits and more than 7,500 admissions annually in the 232-bed facility. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with theJames J. Peters VA Medical Center.

Responsibilities:

  • The Speech & Language Pathologist assesses/evaluates, plans, implements, and supervises individual patient care according to professional standards and departmental policies and procedures for swallowing, speech, language, voice and cognitive-linguistic impairments
  • Adult inpatient/outpatient and pediatric inpatient/outpatient consultation and treatment service
  • Acute care, acute rehab and Outpatients all serviced
  • Support for neonatal feeding and swallowing (NICU)
  • Head and Neck Clinic, voice, and swallowing disorders in collaboration with ENT
  • Stroke Center support
  • Tracheotomy and ventilator care
  • MBSS and/or FEES experience preferred
  • Possibility of supervising undergraduate or graduate students
  • Participates in any departmental trainings


Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree related to communication disorders for Speech & Language Pathology from an accredited academic program
  • Successful completion of a clinical fellowship (CF)
  • Achieved Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech- Language and Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Maintains active New York State licensure in Speech Language Pathology
  • One year of professional experience within the last three years in the practice of Speech-Language Pathology.

Salary: $44,955.12
