Chester County Hospital, part of the University of Pennsylvania Health System, seeks candidates for a full-time clinical position providing consultation psychiatry in the Emergency Department and general medical/surgical/obstetrical inpatient units at a 300-bed community hospital in West Chester, PA.

Clinical responsibilities include initial and follow-up psychiatry consults in the emergency department and inpatient medical and surgical units. No outpatient / ambulatory responsibilities.

These clinical duties will include direction of patient care; supervision of the establishment of diagnosis; development and implementation of treatment recommendations; documentation of treatment services; collaboration with consult liaison nurse practitioners, establishment of disposition decision recommendations, collaboration with social workers to support appropriate placement, and collaboration with pharmacy and attending physicians or other specialists to optimize pharmacologic treatments in patients with psychiatric and medical comorbidities.

Requirements:

Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Board certification/Board eligibility in Psychiatry and PA license are required.

Expertise in consult liaison psychiatry and general adult psychiatry. Adolescent psychiatry experience is desirable but not essential.
