Critical Care Intensivist

The Anesthesiology Institute at the Cleveland Clinic is recruiting qualified intensivists with career interests in critical care medicine. We are a multidisciplinary intensivist group and are seeking BC/BE intensivists with training in Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine and subspecialties, Emergency Medicine, Neurology, and Surgery and subspecialties.

These are unique opportunities to join experienced and junior, clinical and academic intensivists in the Surgical ICU, Cardiovascular ICU and regional hospital ICUs. Clinical responsibilities include working within a critical care team model comprised of residents, fellows, Acute Care Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants. Our various practice settings include training and education of our residents, fellows, SRNAs, and medical students; while other settings have a more non-teaching, clinical focus.

Our patient population includes routine medical/surgical patients to abdominal organ transplants, heart and lung transplants, and ventricular assist devices. We also provide a robust ECMO program.

We have a very strong clinical research program to complement the interests of both academic and non-academic intensivists. Faculty within the Anesthesiology Institute have their academic appointments with the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. Our positions offer competitive salaries, attractive benefits, and a collegial and intellectually stimulating work environment.

Abdominal organ transplant experience is desirable but not required as is testamur or diplomats status from the National Board of Echocardiography. Ultrasound or echo training from Chest, SCCM or similar organization is a plus.

The Cleveland area is a very comfortable and affordable place to live with proximity to Lake Erie; world-class cultural opportunities such as its renowned art museum, orchestra and theater district; major league sports teams; and a wide variety of outdoor activities. Together with great public and private schools, the area is a great place to raise a family.
