Job Details

The OB/GYN and Womens Health Institute at Cleveland Clinic is a nationally recognized academic Institute with a unique residency program and multiple fellowships. We are currently seeking full-time dedicated staff members to serve as Laborist/Hospitalist at our maternity hospitals, located in the Western and Eastern suburbs of Cleveland. Fairview & Hillcrest Hospitals have busy obstetrics service, with each 4500 -5500 deliveries annually. These hospitals provide level 4 maternal level care and level 3 neonatal care.

The Laborist is a critical part of our group practice model and oversees perinatal safety at the birth center. The laborist functions as the team lead for the provider group within labor and delivery. The obstetric team consists of 2-3 physicians (hospitalist and/or general ob/gyns), midwife, nurse practitioner, and residents. The role involves managing the obstetric unit, participating in labor management, obstetric triage and support of maternal fetal medicine service. The laborist also provides support and consultation to midwifery and family medicine services.

Laborists will be on duty 36-48 hours per week, comprised of primarily 24 hour shifts, and work as a team to provide continuous coverage. Hospitalists provide coverage primarily in 12 hour shifts but can work 24 hour shifts. The successful candidate should be board eligible/certified and preferably have experience in a busy obstetrical practice. This position balances clinical and academic responsibilities, including supervision of OB/GYN residents and medical students, along with the potential for faculty appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.

Those interested should submit a cover letter and CV addressed to:
