Duke GI is recruiting two general gastroenterologists to join our practice at Maria Parham Health in Henderson, NC. With more than 50 gastroenterologists and hepatologists, Duke GI seeks to provide high quality, patient-centered care throughout our region. These are community positions with a mixture of outpatient and inpatient clinical duties. The practice is supported by three experienced nurse practitioners. Maria Parham Health is a Duke LifePoint Hospital with 135 operational beds, a GI suite with 3 endoscopy rooms, an onsite Duke affiliated cancer center, and 24/7 general surgery support. The practice will be based at the medical center, and has a strong referral base in the community. Maximum call expectations are 10 nights per month, to include one weekend, with support from the nurse practitioners to serve as primary call. The Health System is pursing regional call partnerships with sister facilities to reduce the call burden further.

Minimal qualifications for the positions are the M.D. or equivalent degree with board certification in gastroenterology. Graduating fellows who will be board eligible are also eligible.

Nearby Kerr Lake, with 800 miles of shoreline, is the hub of recreation for outdoor enthusiasts.
