The Duke Department of Orthopaedic Surgery seeks an orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon to join the academic division. This faculty position will help expand the foot and ankle service across the health system. Qualified candidates will be ABOS BC/BE and have completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery.

The successful applicant will be an integral part of the internationally recognized orthopaedic foot and ankle faculty based at Duke University Hospital, a busy level I trauma center. Over the past five years the department has expanded its geographic footprint allowing for multiple practice locations. Applicants should be committed to excellence in research, patient care, education of residents and fellows, and leadership on local, national, and international levels. Applicants will be expected to perform procedures related to complex reconstruction, foot and ankle trauma, ankle arthroplasty, and foot and ankle sports medicine.

The Duke Orthopaedics foot and ankle team provides comprehensive clinical care with a broad spectrum of research activities. This new faculty member is be expected to develop an academic program in collaboration with research faculty, utilizing Dukes rich academic infrastructure. Support for research is available throughout a broad range of academic areas at Duke University. The Duke Clinical and Translational Science Institute and the Duke Clinical Research Institute are examples of existing research infrastructure available to faculty members.

Academic rank will be commensurate with experience. The salary for this position is competitive and the benefit package is excellent.
