NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx handle more than 156,000 outpatient visits, more than 50,000 emergency room visits and more than 7,500 admissions annually in the 232-bed facility. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with the James J. Peters VA Medical Center.

Responsibilities:

The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at North Central Bronx Hospital (JMC/NCB) is seeking a full-time Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician to join our faculty.

The applicant must have administrative experience and will assume the responsibilities of site director of the PED at NCB, with clinical and academic time divided between the two campuses.

JMC/NCB are New York City public hospitals affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, located in the north Bronx in New York City. JMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center, and a regional Snake Bite, Burn and Hyperbaric Medicine Center. The PED at NCB is a 911 receiving hospital in a community- based setting. Both campuses treat diverse populations regarding pathology, ethnicity and culture. Our faculty consists of 10 PEM board certified physicians, multiple board-certified pediatricians and 6 PEM fellows. Other clinicians providing care in the PED are pediatric and emergency medicine residents from Jacobi Medical Center, as well as multiple EM residency programs throughout the city, a PA and nurse practitioners.

We provide PEM clerkships and electives for 3 rd and 4 th year medical students from Einstein and other medical schools, nationally and internationally, and train PA and NP students from NYC programs.

The JMC PED consists of 15 rooms and 2 acute care/trauma areas. The NCB PED consists of 5 patient rooms and is contiguous with the adult emergency department space.

Faculty are actively involved in a state-of-the-art simulation center, mock codes throughout the hospital, a formal didactic and bedside ultrasound program, multiple performance improvement projects, and development of hospital-wide pediatric protocols and policies. We have a robust research program with multiple annual publications and presentations at national scientific society meetings. All pediatric subspecialties are represented in the Department of Pediatrics and all surgical subspecialties within their respective departments.

Qualifications:

Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York

Board Certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine

Minimum of (3-5) Five years of related experience

Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required prior to hire
