The Taussig Cancer Institute (TCI) at the Cleveland Clinic (CC) is seeking applicants for Medical Director of Apheresis. This position exists within the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology. It is a unique opportunity to support and contribute to world-class programs in blood and marrow transplantation (BMT) and burgeoning cellular therapies. It is also an opportunity to serve, and innovate, apheresis therapeutic procedures in a robust, tertiary-care academic environment on CC main campus across many subspecialties including solid organ transplantation programs. The apheresis unit at CC currently performs ~2500 procedures annually including cellular product collections, total plasma exchange and extracorporeal photopheresis. The clinical service is currently supported by a hematologist, advanced practice provider and a team of registered nurses, with plans for personnel expansion.

The successful candidate for the Medical Director of Apheresis position should be a licensed physician with a minimum experience of 2 years in hematopoietic and cellular therapeutic collection procedures. Qualifications for the Director position will include relevant postgraduate terminal degree and experience supervising and/or performing at least 5 hematopoietic and/or cellular therapy product apheresis procedures in the preceding calendar year. The Director position will also be offered commensurate faculty appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
