Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is conducting a national search for CEO/President.

After a successful career, the incumbent CEO/President is retiring, and SMG is looking to identify their next leader. The medical group is looking for a strong physician executive who will lead the group by focusing on long-term growth and clinical excellence, while operating efficiently and facilitating continued financial strength.

The successful candidate will have over 10 years of senior-level executive experience in a large single specialty or multi-specialty physician-owned practice working successfully in effective operations and growth strategies, clinical engagement, healthcare and reimbursement policies and trends, physician compensation, strategic planning, healthcare constituent engagement, and demonstrate effective communication skills within the practice and the medical community it serves.

Preferred that candidates have leadership/operational experience in the State of California, or in a state that adheres to the Corporate Practice of Medicine. The successful candidate must also have proven skills in working productively and effectively with their affiliated partners. This includes partnership with System, Foundation, Hospitals, and the broader healthcare community served by the practice, developing and maintaining both hospital/health system, and the independent medical community relationships, within its immediate service area as well as the broader regional service and referral communities served.

A graduate degree, such as MHA or MBA, is preferred (or equivalent experience). The CEO position offers competitive compensation, with performance incentives, generous benefits, and a relocation package.
