The UTMB Department of Dermatology – The Department of Dermatology at UTMB was the first department of Dermatology in the state of Texas. We, therefore, have a long history of excellence in patient care, in the training of residents and fellows as well as medical and allied health students.  This is a diverse and growing Department consisting of over 30 clinicians including Faculty, Residents, and Advanced Practice Providers located at our League City and Galveston campuses. The Department is seeking Assistant or Associate Professor level candidates interested in the following opportunities:

  1. Assistant or Associate Professor, General Dermatology - the Department of Dermatology is seeking two (2) full-time clinical faculty dermatologists. The faculty in these positions will be responsible for providing direct patient care, consultative services, outpatient services and care of hospitalized patients. They will participate in all teaching activities of the Department including conferences and lectures, clinics, and in-patient services; continuing medical education; and local, regional, and national meetings. In addition, these positions will have administrative responsibilities including supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction, and participating in committee memberships at the Departmental and Health System level.  Interested candidates will possess an MD or DO degree from an accredited institution, be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Dermatology and be able to obtain an unrestricted Texas state medical license.
  2. Assistant or Associate Professor, Clinical Dermatology/Clinical and Translational Research - The Department of Dermatology is seeking one (1), full-time dermatologist with an interest in clinical dermatology and clinical and translational research to join its team.  The faculty for this position will have the same responsibilities as the above.  In addition, Effort allocation for this position is negotiable, but the successful candidate is expected to spend a portion of his/her time providing clinical dermatology services in addition to pursing his/her research interests in support of the research activities of the Department and leading to extramural grant funding. Interested candidates will possess an MD or MD/PhD degree, must have completed residency training from an acceptable program, be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Dermatology and be able to obtain an unrestricted Texas state medical license.
