Academic Rheumatologist Opportunity in Southern California
Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a Rheumatologist to join our team.
We are currently looking to expand our Rheumatology services. We have a 4-chair infusion center. We have an ultrasound machine, and regularly hold biweekly musculoskeletal ultrasound clinics. We also have subspecialty clinics in Lupus, Rheumatoid arthritis, and are seeking to expand into developing clinics in Spondyloarthropathies, Vasculitis, and Osteoporosis. We have a very active inpatient consult service at LLUMC. We also are affiliated with Riverside University Medical Center where we run outpatient and inpatient Rheumatology services.
We are seeking candidates who want to devote their careers to academic medicine. Although experience and existing grant funding is preferred, we are open to interviewing candidates of varying stages of careers and varying interests. There are many teaching and research opportunities at our institution. We have a 2-year fellowship program which currently has two fellows per year. Faculty have the opportunity to engage with fellows and residents on Rheumatology elective weekly. We have the capacity to run clinical trials and have active engagement with colleagues in translational research. Loma Linda University also has active centers of excellence in the fields of Translational Research, Dentistry, Public Health, Orthopedics, Pulmonary Hypertension/Pulmonology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation – all of which are available to rheumatologists to establish collaborations with. LLUMC also has ongoing collaborations with San Bernardino county to establish community based clinics which also involve rheumatologic care.
Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group is affiliated with Loma Linda University Medical Center, Children’s Hospital and School of Medicine, with the mission to deliver whole-person care at a world class level of clinical excellence. The Medical Center serves as the largest tertiary referral source in both Riverside and San Bernardino counties with a surrounding population approaching 4 million, and is the only Level I Trauma Center serving a four county area that covers approximately 25 percent of the state. The Medical Center and Children’s Hospital are equipped with over 850 licensed beds.
