RWJBarnabas Health, the largest health care provider in NJ, is seeking their next Section Chief of Heart Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC). This surgical leader will be expected to help lead the defining program for NBIMC, the health system’s leading heart transplant center. Newark Beth Israel Medical Center has performed over 1,100 heart transplants to date, has averaged over 30 heart transplant per year over the last three years, and is supported by over 6,000 heart failure discharges annually across eleven acute adult care facilities.

Candidates must be prominent leaders in surgical heart transplantation, experienced in multiple location/large systems-based transplant and mechanical circulatory support programs, and have a proven track record of success in growth, quality, and achieving the highest level of patient care. Clinically, this leader will oversee the surgical section through excellence in care, modernized protocols and care algorithms, and ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
