RWJBarnabas Health is Seeking an Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiologist to serve as the Medical Director of Mechanical Circulatory Support in NJ

RWJBarnabas Health and the Division of Cardiology at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center seeks an Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiologist to serve as the Medical Director of Mechanical Circulatory Support in New Jersey. NBIMC is one of the nation’s largest heart transplant centers with robust Advanced Heart Failure, Shock, and Mechanical Circulatory Support Programs. This is a great opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team and lead all aspects of cardiac critical care in a quaternary level cardiovascular center.

The ideal candidate will oversee the MCS Program at NBIMC and work to set goals, protocols, and implement standards of care. This position will work at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and will also have a presence at the respective ambulatory clinics for MCS and Heart Failure across the network. This role will be embedded in the Section of Heart Failure and Transplant within the Division of Cardiology, and will work with Heart Failure and Transplant team, Cardiologists, and Pulmonary Critical Care physicians. The Medical Director will contribute to the continued growth and development of our expanding MCS program. The ideal candidate will be experienced in the multidisciplinary management of pre and post heart transplant patients, mechanical circulatory support devices, and ECMO, and will participate in STEMI, PERT, and Shock teams.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Board Certified in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant
  • Expertise in all aspects of Mechanical Circulatory Support including experience in temporary and durable ventricular assist devices
  • At least 5 years of relevant previous experience
  • New Jersey licensed or eligible for New Jersey licensure
