Highlights of the Position
  • Oversee the Department of Cardiology at all Guthrie entities, in coordination with the Chair of the Cardiovascular Service Line
  • Manage quality oversight, an ongoing, critical function that includes all cardiac care provided by Guthrie, including both inpatient and outpatient care
  • Manage the Departmental budget in coordination with the goals of the organization
  • Provide annual performance review, goal setting and career mentoring to the cardiologists and cardiology APPs
  • Working with the recruiting team in an efficient manner to attract, recruit, and retain highly qualified providers to the Department of Cardiology
  • Provide leadership to encourage the department to participate in and promote ongoing scientific exploration in cardiac prevention and disease, ensuring within the Department ongoing journal publications, poster presentations, and oral presentations at national meetings
  • Provide full support for the cardiology fellowship within the department. Encourage departmental participation in graduate and undergraduate medical education
  • Five (5) years post-fellowship clinical experience required

Guthrie offers a full spectrum of outpatient and inpatient cardiac and vascular testing and treatments with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, vascular and endovascular surgery, cardiac surgery, including TAVR, electrophysiology, PVI ablations, ICD and CRT-D implantation, non-invasive testing services, cardiac rehabilitation, an arrhythmia center with left atrial appendage occlusion (Watchman) and advanced cardiac imaging.
