The University of North Texas Health Science Center (HSC), HSC Health is seeking a primary care physician for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to serve as the Clinical Medical Director of HSC Health Family Medicine.


Duties include the following:

  • Clinical leader for oversight and support of all clinical activities within assigned clinic(s)
  • Work collaboratively with Clinical Operations Managers and other leadership to optimize clinical flow and patient care; co-lead clinic level Operational Meetings
  • Develop and implement adherence to clinical protocols, accepted standards of clinical care and HSC Health quality initiatives
  • Provide leadership for achieving programmatic clinical quality objectives
  • Serve as supervising physician for advanced practice providers within assigned clinic(s)
  • Collaborate with other medical directors and clinicians to optimally integrate best practices and care delivery models within assigned clinic(s
  • Work closely with practice leadership, CMO, CNO, and other management staff to determine direction and strategies for assigned clinic services
  • Communicate frequently with HSC Health leadership regarding the status of current clinic services and perceived opportunities and challenges
  • Meet regularly (at least monthly) with assigned clinic provider staff and CMO to monitor status and report developments
  • Actively monitor and manage assigned clinic key performance indicators; such as but not limited to patient access, productivity and patient experience
  • Oversee provider education and training, and works with Clinical Manager to identify and support staff training
  • Provide clinic consultation to physicians and advanced practice providers as needed
  • Participate in various administrative/clinical staff meetings
  • Review and approve all service line related templates and forms that are utilized for patient care
  • Assist with evaluating performance levels, quality of service(s), productivity, and future needs
  • Provide resolution to assigned clinic complaints made by patients, patient family members, other health care professionals or other HSC Health employees
  • Resolve conflicts between physicians and among physicians, clinical staff, or other clinic personnel
  • Assist with reviewing and revising policies and procedures of assigned clinic
  • Assist in preparation of clinical quality targets in line with HSC Health strategic plan, to measure individual provider performance against that target
  • Work collaboratively with appropriate community partners to enhance and expand assigned clinic services
  • Assure high quality educational experience for all learners within assigned clinic
