Academic Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon

Summary:

WMCHealth's Section of Trauma and Acute Care Surgeon isseeking fellowship trained general surgeons with a specialization in trauma and critical care work in the Northern Region of the Network at an ACS Level II Trauma Center in at MidHudson Regional Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY as well as HealthAlliance Hudson Valley Hospital in Kingston, NY. Qualifications: Applicants must be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery and/or surgical critical care. Requirements include demonstrated skills in emergency surgery, surgical critical care, and trauma, and a desire for teaching and research (health services, translational or basic science research). The Trauma Surgeon reports to the Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery and the Director of Department of Surgery. Candidate requirements include an M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine or osteopathy, as well as the completion of a surgical residency and a surgical critical care fellowship. Candidates are eligible for faculty appointment, commensurate with qualifications, at New York Medical College.
