Maine Behavioral Healthcare, a member of MaineHealth, seeks a full -ime Adult Psychiatrist to join our team in Norway, Maine. The Psychiatrist will join the team at the Western Maine Health clinic, next to Stephen's Memorial Hospital, working with a team comprised of two Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, and a team of clinical professionals. There will be a significant orientation toward integration with the primary care services with Western Maine Health.  

DESIRED COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • MD/DO degree
  • Board eligible/board certified in Psychiatry
  • Experience in clinical treatment for the population is required
  • Licensure in the State of Maine required prior to start date
  • Must display strong interpersonal, planning, forecasting, analytical skills, and maturity required to work in a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB

  • Provide psychiatric services for clinic patients
  • Work with the clinic team to develop effective, multidisciplinary treatment plans
  • Model and teach treatment strategies for residents and fellows
  • Attend team meetings regularly to review patient progress
  • Work with the medical director to refine the clinic treatment model
  • Maintain medical records in accordance with MBH policy
  • Make available clinical data for research purposes as needed and performs research assessments as requested
  • Perform clinical rating measures as part of the standard clinic/program routine (Parent rating scales, etc.)
  • Use of electronic medical record (EPIC)

The quaint and charming town of Norway is located in Oxford county, with a warm community feel. A haven for all outdoor activities year-round, Norway is close to dozens of lakes and ponds, and a short drive to the mountains of Western Maine and New Hampshire. The area offers some of the most breathtaking natural beauty and outdoor recreation found anywhere in a safe community environment.
