Riverside University Health System Medical Center (RUHSMC) in Riverside County, California, designated an American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma verified Level-1 Trauma Center, is actively recruiting Trauma Critical Care Surgeons.

Our hospital is a safety net facility in Southern California, with a population of 2 million in the county. The trauma program cares for 3,600 trauma admissions yearly, performs 1,500 emergency general surgery cases, and provides high level complex care in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Our Division of Acute Care Surgery has the only Accredited Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program in the Inland Empire. RUHSMC also has ACGME residency programs in surgery, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, anesthesiology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, pediatrics, family medicine, and radiology. Our faculty have teaching affiliations with Loma Linda University School of Medicine and the University of California Riverside School of Medicine.

We are seeking acute care surgeons with expertise in trauma and critical care, strong commitment to trainee education, and desire for ongoing professional development. There are ample opportunities for research in our Comparative Effectiveness and Clinical Outcomes Research Center – CECORC; a research center with strong commitment to dissemination of research throughout all departments of the hospital.

Requirements –acute care/trauma surgeons, with MD or DO degree, and American Board of Surgery and Surgical Critical Care board certification. A California medical license is required, but accommodations will be considered for qualified candidates pending relocation and licensure. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with training, qualifications, and experience. A track record in education or research is preferred in addition to demonstrated ability in providing excellent patient care and strong leadership skills.
