Adventist Health Ukiah Valley is seeking an experienced Family Medicine physician to become Core Faculty and join our team in stunning Mendocino County of Northern CA. This is a rare opportunity to work near the redwoods and Northern Coastline just north of San Francisco in Ukiah, CA .

  • Joining a team of highly diverse and exceptional providers who specialize in full-spectrum Family Medicine and Women's Health.
  • Must be well-trained in outpatient procedures and prenatal care; option for OB with or without C-sections; option for inpatient medicine/ICU.
  • We are seeking to add to our expertise with a physician with focus on LGBTQ+ and diverse vulnerable population care needs.
  • Appointment as a UC-Davis volunteer clinical faculty member

Candidates must demonstrate passion for community health, dedication to family medicine education, and excellent clinical and communication skills. As a member of a newly accredited UC Davis-affiliated program, Core Faculty will participate in the curriculum development of our program in addition to providing high-quality teaching and resident mentorship. Core Faculty members are expected to maintain a clinical practice as well as supervise family medicine residents.

About Our Residency

Adventist Health Ukiah Valley Family Medicine Residency Program was established in 2019 to address the rural health crisis and create full-spectrum family physicians who are well trained to take on the needs of their communities. Unopposed as the only residency program in our county, residents have individualized training at our rural sites and actively participate in local community projects. We currently train 15 residents across the first three classes, with goals to expand into a 6-6-6 program. Our residency program is affiliated with UC Davis and ACGME-accredited.

About the Medical Center:

Adventist Health Ukiah Valley (AHUV) is part of the North Coast Network of Adventist Health, which includes two acute care facilities, three critical access medical centers and a center for behavioral health. AHUV is a faith- based, not- for- profit health and wellbeing organization located in the county seat of Mendocino County, operated as a 49- bed hospital with 735 associates, 167 medical staff members and 18 affiliated clinics offering both specialty and primary care services to Mendocino County and surrounding Lake County communities. Our new emergency department operates with a physician on duty 24- hours a day and is designated as a level IV trauma center. Medical Services include Emergency Services, Family Birth Center, Inpatient Medical Care, Intensive Care Unit, Lab Services, Medical Imaging, Outpatient Laboratory, Outpatient Rehabilitation, Pharmacy, and Surgical Services. Medical Offices include Behavioral Health, Cardiology, Cancer Care, Family Medicine, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Pain Management, Pediatrics, Pulmonology, Rheumatology, Sports Medicine, Urology, Women's Health (OB/GYN), and Wound Care.

Community Overview:

Nestled in the Ukiah Valley, Ukiah is a mid-sized town surrounded by vineyards, pear orchards and redwood-covered hills. Ukiah's strong sense of community is clearly present in its numerous town celebrations, festivals and events, including the Ukiah Country PumpkinFest, which celebrates Ukiah's rich agricultural tradition each October. All sorts of recreational opportunities can be found at Lake Mendocino, just five miles from Ukiah, with over 100 family picnic sites, boat launching ramps, fishing, a swimming beach, hiking trails and much more. For entertainment, Ukiah boasts a number of theatrical companies. The Grace Hudson Museum makes for another entertaining diversion, featuring exhibitions of the works of artist Grace Hudson as well as local, regional and Californian Indian artists. Ukiah is located about two hours north of San Francisco and one hour from the Pacific Coast and redwood forests.
