Nuvance Health, formerly known as Western Connecticut Health, has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Rheumatologist in New Milford, Connecticut, located about 90 minutes outside of New York City in Litchfield County. This is an excellent opportunity to join our growing Rheumatology team and practice in a multispecialty center located at New Milford Hospital with some office time at our Danbury office location. There is flexibility in scheduling office hours. Part-time schedule can also be accommodated. Sign on and retention bonuses included.

The ideal candidate will be board certified in Internal Medicine and board certified/eligible in Rheumatology and looking to join a dedicated and collegial team working to meet the needs of our large primary care referral base. We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including base salary plus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package, allowances for CMEs and Dues expenses, as well as relocation. There is also opportunity for academic affiliation, with optional university faculty appointment as well as teaching and research if interested.

New Milford Hospital is a community hospital, serving the residents of the greater Litchfield County area in Connecticut for the past 100 years. Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care. Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. As teaching hospitals, we are affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our Medical Group includes 1,000+ physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.

Located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and close to the border of New York State, New Milford is not far from the NY metropolitan area, about 80 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT. We enjoy both proximity to New York City culture and access to a wide array of outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, fishing, and boating in state and regional parks and preserves. Filled with quaint towns, the region offers a variety of excellent housing and highly rated public and private school options. Boston, New York City, New Haven, and Hartford are easily accessible.
