Dartmouth-Hitchcock's Department of Radiology, in conjunction with the Norris Cotton Cancer Center and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, is seeking a full-time BC/BE Academic Breast Imaging Radiologist with fellowship training in breast imaging to join our established service and team as the 5 th radiologist in a clinical (0.6 FTE) and academic (0.4 FTE) split position. The candidate will join an academic state-of-the-art subspecialty breast imaging section and perform a full spectrum of breast imaging diagnosis and intervention including digital mammography (with Breast Tomosynthesis), breast ultrasound and breast MRI and related interventions. The Breast Imaging staff are actively involved in the supervision and teaching of our radiology residents, medical students, fellows and learners from other departments and works closely with related clinical services.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock is committed to improving healthcare through excellence in image-based clinical care, education of future radiologists, and translational research for imaging. In addition to a clinical practice, the candidate will be provided with protected research and academic time to establish an independent research program. The ideal candidate is an early career clinician scientist with the ability to obtain self-funding for research within 3 years. Supported areas of research relevant to breast imaging include breast cancer epidemiology, health services research, disparities research, decision science, and the development and evaluation of novel imaging technology. Extensive opportunities for mentorship with leading national experts are available in each of these areas, including faculty and data resources available in the Cancer Center's Cancer Population Sciences (CPS) and Translational Engineering in Cancer (TEC) Research Programs, and at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice.

Successful candidates will become an integral member of the NCI-designated Norris Cotton Cancer Center (NCCC) Comprehensive Breast Care Program, which combines radiology, surgery, oncology, pathology, and radiation oncology. As one of only 51 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers nationwide, NCCC houses robust research programs spanning molecular oncology, machine learning, health services research, and advanced imaging technologies. NCCC is home to the New Hampshire Mammography Network, a breast-imaging registry that has been a member of the Breast Cancer Surveillance Consortium (BCSC) since 1995. NCCC offers a dynamic and interactive research and clinical environment, with a commitment to research excellence commensurate with Dartmouth's status as an R1 Doctoral University in the Carnegie Classification. The successful candidate will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities and a vibrant multi-disciplinary Cancer Biology graduate program. NCCC members benefit from highly collaborative and collegial interactions across the entirety of Dartmouth College and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health System, inclusive of other departments at Geisel, the School of Arts & Sciences, the Guarini School of Graduate and Advanced Studies, the Thayer School of Engineering and the Tuck School of Business. In addition to interactions within NCCC, candidates may benefit additionally from interactions with three existing NIH Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBREs).

Minimum Requirements:
  • Board Certified/ Board Eligible in Radiology
  • Must obtain and maintain a medical license in the State of NH
