Novant Health Pediatric Endocrinology in Charlotte, NC has a full time Medical Director opportunity for a BC/BE Pediatric Endocrinologist to join a rapidly growing practice that currently includes one Pediatric Endocrinologist and two nurse practitioners. This full-time position consists of 4.5 clinical days and 1/2 day of dedicated administrative time per week. Call coverage for consultations on the pediatric inpatient floor, PICU, NICU, and pediatric emergency department is shared among all providers, typically rotating weekly. The practice currently has one satellite location and is looking to add additional satellite locations in the near future to serve the growing population. There is full time RN, Dietitian, and Diabetes Educator support, along with experienced medical assistants and clerical staff.

Medical Director Leadership Duties:
The responsibilities of the leadership team will include creating and sustaining aligned clinic culture, reducing unwarranted clinical variation, financial planning, oversight of day-to-day clinic operations, and driving strategic change. As medical director, the individual will also serve as the connection point for bidirectional communication between clinic providers and medical group leadership. In partnership with clinic administers, lead clinicians are responsible for:

  • Helping develop a common vision and purpose for the clinic that supports community needs and Novant Health’s mission, vision, and values
  • Partnering with medical group leadership to develop positive office culture
  • Understanding and communicating concepts necessary for the operational success of the clinic including quality care, safety, accessibility, financial responsibility, customer service, and workflow streams utilizing technological advancements.   
  • Serving as an effective role model and transformational leader
  • Providing leadership in teamwork development and provider wellness
  • Overseeing efficient operation of patient care in the office
  • Overseeing efficient operation of patient care 
  • Sharing accountability with the clinic administrator to achieve the financial and budgetary goals of the clinic
  • Counseling individual providers on issues such as In Basket management, coding, clinical quality, behavior, attendance, and patient complaints
  • Develop research opportunity for our pediatric endocrinology clinic
  • Ensure a multidisciplinary approach to clinical care
  • Provider leadership in developing referral streams inclusive of secondary market
