Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Surgery, has an immediate need for an Acute Care Surgeon, BC/BE in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about a teaching position in a collegial, multidisciplinary, faith-based environment.

We are a very busy, ACS-verified, Adult and Pediatric Level I trauma center in the Inland Empire region of Southern California. Our catchment and referral area includes San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono, and Inyo counties with a population of more than 4 million people and tremendous diversity. We see approximately 2,000 major adult and 800 major pediatric traumas per year, as well as 1,900 ED general surgery consults and almost 2,000 operative cases a year. We are heavily involved in resident teaching and have recruited our first GME-approved Surgical Critical Care Fellow to start in 2022. We are heavily involved in research at the institutional and multi-institutional level.

We recently moved into a new, state-of-the-art hospital with 96 ICU beds and 192 floor/stepdown beds and 20 ORs including 2 hybrid rooms and robotic surgical capability. The Surgical ICU and the Neurocritical Care ICU share a 32-bed unit.

Successful applicants will be at the Assistant/Associate Professor level, BC/BE in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Acute care surgery/trauma service weeks and ICU weeks will be at the LLUMC main campus. Additional opportunities, including elective general surgery and call coverage for the LLUMC-Murrieta ED, may be arranged.

This opportunity is not eligible for a J-1 Waiver.
