Division Chief, Pediatric Endocrinology

Baystate Health, western Massachusetts’ premier healthcare provider and home to the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School – Baystate, is seeking a Pediatric Endocrinologist to serve as Division Chief of Pediatric Endocrinology for our organization in western Massachusetts.

Practice Highlights –
- Lead our team of 3 physicians, 1 APP, CDE nurses and dieticians within a culture of academic rigor and mutual respect to provide outstanding clinical care to a diverse patient population in Western Mass
- Practice is ~50% diabetes (60-70 new-onset diabetics per year) and ~50% general endocrine disorders, including transgender care and well-established weight management program/bariatric and T2DM programs
- Develop the next generation of clinicians by delivering comprehensive education to pediatric residents, medical students and other learners
- Baystate Children’s Hospital is a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 107-beds and includes the region’s only PICU and NICU, as well as pediatric inpatient hospitalists services, child life specialists, a designated 24-hour pediatric ED and services from >12 pediatric subspecialties, including pediatric surgery and child psychiatry.
Division Chief Role-
- Guide the clinical and academic mission of this well-established division, including state-of-the-art diabetes and endocrine care, outreach clinics in Northampton and Pittsfield, contribution of new knowledge and medical education, and collaboration with the adult Division of Endocrinology at Baystate
- Create a positive work environment for the division that encourages communication, trust, team-work and professional growth and ensure that all staff feel valued and supported.
- Participate as part of the senior leadership team in departmental and children’s hospital strategy and decisions
- Faculty appointment to the UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate (preferably Associate Professor or higher).
- Baystate Health has an Institute for Healthcare Delivery and Population Science which supports clinical and community-based research.

Qualifications: ABP BC in pediatric endocrinology. 7+ years’ experience with evidence of progressive management responsibilities and leadership in an academic department. Demonstrable record of collaboration, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enthusiasm for medical education and mentoring faculty and ability to engage a broad base of potential stakeholders to work towards a shared vision.
