Bayhealth Medical Center is Central and Southern Delaware's largest healthcare system. Procedures will be performed at Bayhealth Medical Center Sussex Campus, a brand new hospital which is opening in February 2019. Bayhealth is an affiliate of the University of Pennsylvania Health System-Penn Orthopedics and Penn Cardiac Care. We are also a member of the Penn Cancer Network.

Delaware is one of the fastest growing states in the US and as we grow we are in the process of developing GME programs (FM & IM [2021], Surgery [2022], EM [2023] and a Transitional Year Program in 2024) to meet the future healthcare needs of our communities. February 2109 saw the opening of the new Sussex Campus; this 152 bed hospital replaced Milford Memorial Hospital. Bayhealth Medical Center is central and southern Delaware's largest healthcare system.

Bayhealth Medical Center is a fully integrated health care system consisting of two hospitals (Bayhealth Kent and Sussex campuses), a free-standing ED in Smyrna and numerous ambulatory and outpatient offices. Both hospitals are certified Primary Stroke Centers. There is 24/7 Hospitalist coverage at both hospitals, as well as Intensivists in the ICU's. Service are available in most specialties including Neurosurgery, Cardiac surgery, Interventional and Structural Cardiology. Kent has a Cardiac ICU, a Neuro ICU and a general ICU, Milford has a general ICU.

Delaware is consistently rated as one of the lowest cost of living states in which to either raise a family or retire. Located less than two hours from Washington DC, Baltimore and Philadelphia the central/southern Delaware area offers affordable living, history and charm. Easy access to both the Delaware and Chesapeake Bays provides limitless recreational opportunities and the Atlantic Ocean is less than a forty-five minute drive from Dover.
