The Wayne State University School of Medicine (WSU SOM) Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a clinical educator faculty position in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The Nephrology program is a collaborative effort between WSU SOM and the faculty practice plan Wayne Health (WH). As a member of WH, the physician will participate in the clinical activities of the division. As a faculty member of WSU SOM, the successful candidate will join the Department of Internal Medicine and be responsible for the following:

  • Day to day clinical service responsibilities in the area of nephrology, through employment through Wayne Health,
  • Participation in the teaching program of both medical students, residents and fellows,
  • Participation in research activities within the Department of Internal Medicine.
  • Publication in peer-reviewed literature
  • Participation in scholarly activities in the area of nephrology and hypertension,
  • Participation in service assignments of importance to the Department, the School of Medicine and the University, and
  • Administrative duties as assigned.
  • Clinical activities will be in General Nephrology (Hospital and Ambulatory); experience in Hypertension, Interventional Nephrology, and Onconephrology is welcomed and will represent an opportunity for growth and development.
