Northwell Health’s Northern Westchester Hospital is recruiting a full-time board certified psychiatrist to be the Associate Director of Northern Westchester Hospital’s Department of Behavioral Health in Mount Kisco. We are seeking applicants with outstanding clinical and managerial skills who have a passion for leadership and innovation. 

This is a unique opportunity to join the leadership team of Northern Westchester Hospital’s Department of Behavioral Health which provides comprehensive psychiatric care in a private, patient-centered environment. Services include:

  • Inpatient psychiatric hospitalization for adults age 18 and over on a dedicated unit of the hospital
  • Emergency Department coverage 24-hours a day provided by board certified psychiatrists
  • Consultation on the medical and surgical units of the hospital provided by psychiatric and social work staff

The Associate Director will assist the Chair in developing and enforcing new policies and procedures to improve patient care and efficiency in the Department of Behavioral Health. Responsibilities include business development, program design, care standardization, workforce expansion, process improvement, regulatory compliance, supervision and trainee education. 

Candidate must have an MD or equivalent from an accredited College of Medicine and completion of a Residency with Board Eligibility/Certification in Psychiatry. Candidate must be licensed as a physician in the State of New York. 

Our 15-bed inpatient unit provides short term hospital care to evaluate and stabilize patients with acute psychiatric disorders. There is a strong focus on returning patients to normal functioning as soon as possible while rebuilding self-esteem and improving socialization.
