Chief Medical Executive of the Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute

Baptist Health South Florida, the largest healthcare organization in the region, is seeking an individual with the highest qualifications to provide leadership as the Chief Medical Executive of the Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute (MCVI). Reporting to the health system’s Executive Vice President, Chief Clinical Officer and Chief Physician Executive, the role requires strategic and visionary leadership of a key clinical enterprise of the health system.

The Institute has a 35-year history as an early innovator of multidisciplinary, collaborative care, providing cardiac and vascular services in a health system that has grown to 11 hospital entities and more than 100 employed physician practices, outpatient, and urgent care facilities extending from Palm Beach County to the Florida Keys.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in leading a department or comparable enterprise, as well as the ability to develop and operationally lead the Institute. With Baptist Hospital of Miami becoming a statutory teaching hospital, and the recognized importance of top-tier clinical research, experience in clinical or translational research and in relevant graduate medical education is important.

The candidate will work collaboratively to align the goals of the Institute with the executive leadership of the healthcare system, as well as the employed cardiovascular faculty and  community-based cardiovascular professionals, to attain the highest level of patient access to leading-edge care (multidisciplinary when appropriate), of highest clinical quality. As the Chief Medical Executive for the Institute, you will have responsibilities leading and guiding the deputy directors who oversee the clinical domains of Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, as well as Vascular Medicine and Surgery.
