Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist

The Departments of Pediatric Cardiology and Critical Care Medicine within the Pediatric Institute at Cleveland Clinic Childrens are seeking Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care physicians to join our group to care for Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care patients in a single-bed acuity adjustable Cardiac Care Unit. The successful candidate will be required to be either dual-boarded in pediatric cardiology and critical care medicine, or to have completed a 4th year Advanced Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care fellowship. The successful candidate will join our staff of 7 Cardiac Critical Care physicians, 4 of which have advanced training in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care, and 9 Advanced Practice Nurses supporting the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care team. Clinical activities of the department include: direct patient care responsibilities and supervision of fellows, residents, and advanced nurse practitioners. The CCU has 23 beds and cares for 750 admissions annually. Patients are pre- and post-op after congenital heart surgery, have heart failure and are post- heart transplantation and/or ventricular assist device, and have pediatric and adult congenital cardiology issues requiring cardiac critical care. We provide ECMO/VAD, HFOV, inhaled nitric oxide and renal replacement therapies.

Our team works closely with the Fetal Care Center, with dedicated fetal care coordinators and a fetal surgery program. An interest in teaching and research is desirable with multiple opportunities for both.
