The Cleveland Clinic is seeking a researcher at the assistant professor level to join its Department of Wellness and Preventive Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. The department was founded in 2008 and is the home of the Tanya Edwards MD Center for Integrative and Lifestyle Medicine with over 40 clinicians including physicians, nurse practitioners, chiropractors, acupuncturists, Chinese herbalists, holistic psychotherapists, massage therapists, yoga instructors, and culinary medicine specialists. The department has strong research, administrative, and nursing support staff. The department is situated within Cleveland Clinic Community Care which provides primary care, hospital, and home-based care to over 1 million patients annually across Northeast Ohio. The department and research program have strong institutional support to advance the four priorities of the Cleveland Clinic: Care of the Patient, Care of the Caregiver, Care of the Community, and Care of the Organization. The Department has also strong relationships to the Cleveland Clinic Center for Value Based Care Research, the Lerner Research Institute, and investigators across the Clinic's specialty institutes. Candidates will be expected to dedicate the majority of their time to pursuing original research, publishing manuscripts, and submitting grant applications to public and private funders. Faculty appointments are available through the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. Candidates should be at the level of assistant professor and have a MD, PhD, or equivalent doctorate in a relevant field. Qualifications include a track record of peer-reviewed publications and academic productivity. Training in clinical trials, outcomes research, health services research, basic and translational science, qualitative methods, biostatistics, large database analysis, implementation science, behavioral economics, or cost-effectiveness is preferred. We are interested in applicants who are passionate about cross-disciplinary research and innovation. In particular, applicants interested in nonpharmacologic and lifestyle approaches to chronic disease, behavior change, racism and health disparities, community-based participatory research, and caregiver well-being are particularly welcome. New hires have access to exceptional clinical data sources, generous support and strong mentorship. Teaching opportunities are also available.
