The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine and IU Health Physicians invite applications for a Director of Autopsy. The Director of Autopsy is an academic position; expectations include academic productivity, including teaching and publishing. This position does not have a forensic component; all autopsies are hospital requested and do not include private autopsy requests. At times, this position may assist with pediatric autopsies.

The 17-hospital IU Health Laboratory System is served by over 70 pathologists and is growing. Operating out of the department's clinical headquarters at the 150,000 square foot pathology lab, this newly created position offers the ability to collaborate with a cadre of subspecialized pathologists. The state-wide IU Health Laboratory system also includes pathologists practicing in community-based environments who receive the support of colleagues practicing in the enriched environment created by an academic health center.

Qualifications:
  • Applicants must be certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic and clinical pathology
  • Doctorate or Terminal degree is required
