NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan , located on First Avenue & 97 th Street in Manhattan, accommodate over 313,000 outpatient visits, nearly 70,000 emergency room visits and more than 13,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with New York Medical College.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine and prescribe anesthetics and procedures to be employed in various categories of cases.
  • Advise Anesthetists and Surgeons in cases where age or condition of the patient presents usual or complex problems.
  • Recommend suitable anesthesia and advise on dosages.
  • Review case histories and responsible for all matters pertaining to Anesthesiology.
  • Lectures and trains Anesthetists, Residents and auxiliary staff.
  • Attend clinical conferences.
  • Administer anesthesia.
  • Perform related work as required.


  • Qualifications:

    • Board Certified/Eligible in Anesthesiology (ABA)
    • Graduation from a medical school of recognized standing with the degree of Doctor of Medicine
    • Current NYS license
    • Superior leadership skills
    • (5) years of revelent experience in the field of Anesthesiology
