Job Description:
The Associate Medical Director - Quality and Safety (AMD - Q/S), Imaging Services is a system-wide role, responsible to champion and promote Quality and Safety for Intermountain Healthcare's Clinical Shared Services.

Scope

The AMD - Q/S is a physician, system-wide role in the Imaging Services Clinical Shared Service. Under the direction of the Senior Medical Director, this position provides leadership, oversight, and develops a culture of quality and safety throughout the enterprise. AMD - Q/S will oversee and manage patient and caregiver safety events and promote quality initiatives with an emphasis on collaboration with clinical programs/service lines.

Essential Job Duties
  • The position is allocated 0.5 FTE administrative time
  • The position will report directly to the Senior Medical Director - Imaging Services
  • Participate in planning and strategy for imaging in the system
  • Manage the enterprise quality improvement program including the evaluation of accuracy of interpretation as well as appropriateness of examinations
  • Provide oversight to clinical section leaders on quality improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Oversee and manage patient and caregiver safety events.
    • Collaborate with patient advocacy, office of patient experience and administrative dyad partners in clinical shared services on the evaluation of complications and adverse events
  • Oversee key safety and process metrics
  • Interface with clinical programs regarding issues of quality and safety
  • Oversee Peer Learning Conferences
  • Participate in systems imaging councils
    • Imaging services medical council; Imaging services guidance council; Section leader council; AMD council
  • Interface with other service lines throughout Intermountain Healthcare

Minimum Requirements
  • Active credentials at one or more Intermountain Facilities
  • M.D. or D.O. Education must be obtained through an ACGME or AOA accredited institution and will be verified
  • ABMS or equivalent AOA Board Certification in radiology
  • Active Utah Medical Licensure is required
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
