The Cardiology Division at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking a critical care cardiologist for a full-time faculty position in the section of critical care cardiology. The cardiac intensive care unit is a busy service that manages a large and diverse population of patients with severe cardiovascular disease and severe comorbid medical problems.
Candidates must be board eligible/board certified (or equivalent) in both Cardiovascular Disease and Critical Care Medicine, and must hold an MD (or equivalent degree), MD/PhD (or equivalent degrees), or MD/MPH (or equivalent degrees). Candidates should have training and experience leading a multidisciplinary ICU team, teaching and supervising trainees and APPs, and performing all routine ICU procedures. Candidates should also be skilled collaborators who can work closely with teams from other cardiology specialties, cardiac surgery, and other critical care medicine services to provide optimal patient care. Training and experience managing mechanical circulatory support devices including Impella, ECMO, and LVADs is desirable. All qualifications must be met by time of appointment.
The UCSF section of critical care cardiology participates in the critical care cardiology trials network (CCCTN) and provides a variety of other opportunities for research. Successful candidates must be qualified for appointment at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level.
