ABOUT LEXINGTON MEDICAL CENTER:

Lexington Medical Center is a 557-bed acute care hospital network in West Columbia, South Carolina. The network includes six community medical centers, an occupational health facility, the largest nursing home in the Carolinas, an Alzheimer's care center, and 77 physician practices with over 400 employed physicians. Lexington Medical Center births over 4,000 babies a year and is voted “Best Hospital” and “Best Place to Have a Baby” by readers of The State newspaper and Free Times newspaper.

In March of 2019, the Medical Center opened the doors to the largest clinical expansion in South Carolina's history. The expansion included expansion of the hospitals Labor and Delivery, and Mother/Baby departments, including a 20-bed special care nursey with all private rooms; six antepartum rooms for patients who need extensive long-term monitoring; and a level 2 special care nursery and a newborn nursery.
