Excellent Full-time Opportunity for Hematologist/Oncologist – Danbury, Connecticut – 60 Miles from New York City

Nuvance Health, formerly known as Western Connecticut Health, has an excellent opportunity for a full-time, employed Hematologist/Oncologist with subspecialty interest at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Connecticut. Danbury is located about 60 miles northeast of New York City in suburban Fairfield County and near the border of Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York State. Our long established, busy, and growing practice includes seven physicians and additional Advanced Practitioners. Our office is based in Praxair Cancer Center within the Danbury Hospital Campus. The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in both Hematology and Oncology and have subspecialty interest in two or three site specific areas. The hematologists/ oncologists at Danbury Hospital / Praxair Cancer Center are members of the network’s disease teams that incorporate experts in radiation oncology and cancer surgery as well as genetics, research coordinators, dieticians, and dedicated disease specific nurse navigators. We are a member of NRG and have a robust clinical trials portfolio. There is some teaching of medicine residents and medical students. We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including base salary plus incentives and allowances for CMEs and Dues expenses as well as relocation.

Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care. Danbury Hospital has 371-beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our employed Medical Group includes 900+ physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.

Danbury, Connecticut, located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and on the border of New York State, is about 60 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT. As part of the greater NY metropolitan area, the city of Danbury enjoys both proximity to New York City culture and access to a wide variety of venues for 4 season outdoor and indoor recreation. There are highly rated public and private schools and universities throughout the region. Surrounded by a number of quaint towns, the area offers a variety of excellent housing options. Boston, New York City, New Haven, and Hartford are easily accessible via train and car.
