We are seeking a patient focused Cardiovascular Surgeon to join our highly skilled team. We are looking to replace a senior surgeon who is in the process of retirement. This is a great opportunity to work at our Trauma center in Lafayette (home to Purdue University).

The practice in Lafayette, IN is a well-established CT surgery practice with a stable referral base and is the leader in the West Central Region. There are opportunities to grow the program in this role and there is substantial support by the hospital administration and a strong support staff in the practice. This established program includes minimally invasive and opportunity for robotic thoracic surgery at a state of the art facility with partnership and participation with the Academic Health Center.

Job Duties:
  • Cardiac surgical assessments, cardiac surgery & cardiac surgical follow-up care
  • Procedures include CABG, Aortic Valve Replacement, TAVAR, TEVAR, EVAR, Mitral Valve replacement, Lobectomy, Decortications, Trauma, Chest Wall Procedures, ECMO cannulation, Pacemaker/generator placement/change, etc.
  • Monday-Friday schedule with rotating call - must live within 45 minutes of the hospital
  • 4-8 procedures per week - 12 patients per week in office/4 patients per week in hospital
  • 75% inpatient/25% outpatient
  • Full-time position and academic / clinical rank will commensurate with experience
  • Medical students rotating on this service

Basic Qualifications:
  • Qualified candidates must have M.D., or equivalent education
  • Completed a Thoracic Surgery residency
  • ABTS board certified/eligible in Surgery
  • Collaborate and successfully interact with a multi-disciplinary team to promote high-quality patient outcomes
  • Requires excellent interpersonal skills and clear written and verbal communication skills
