Excellent Academic Director of Consult-Liaison Psychiatry Opening in Norwalk, Connecticut (Coastal CT 50 miles from New York City)

Nuvance Health, formerly known as Western Connecticut Health, is seeking a full-time Director of Consult-Liaison Psychiatry (psychiatrist) at Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Connecticut. Norwalk Hospital is a satellite campus of the University of Vermont College of Medicine as well as a primary teaching site for Nuvance Health’s general psychiatry residency program. Norwalk Hospital is located in suburban Fairfield County about 50 miles northeast of New York City along the shore of the Long Island Sound. Our established practice has seven psychiatrists and two nurse practitioners. Our busy practice is long established with a highly collegial and supportive working environment. Our program offers teaching appointments, working with Nuvance Health psychiatry residents and medical students from the University of Vermont. Part-time option will be considered.

The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in psychiatry. Spanish speaking is a plus. Occasional weekend coverage is shared with a nurse practitioner and paid at an additional highly competitive per diem rate. This is an employed position with a highly competitive compensation package, including allowances for CMEs and Dues expenses, CME time, and relocation stipend.

Norwalk Hospital has 366 beds and is also a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 50,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are associated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Yale University School of Medicine, Ross University School of Medicine, and the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. Our Medical Group includes 900+ physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.

Norwalk Hospital is ideally situated in suburban Fairfield County, Connecticut, along the Long Island Sound. The city of Norwalk is rich in cultural diversity and offers many venues for 4 season outdoor and indoor recreation. There are excellent public and private schools and universities in our area. New York City is easily accessible by car or train. Norwalk Hospital has been a proud part of this community since 1892.
