Job Details

The Division of Cardiology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC, is looking for an academic general clinical cardiologist with level 3 training, and ABIM Board Certification in Adult Echocardiography to join our rapidly expanding laboratory. Interest in clinical or translational echo research is preferred but not required.

Our newly renovated adult echocardiography laboratory performs over 25,000 adult echocardiographic studies annually at two hospitals and five different ambulatory practice sites. We field state-of-the-art clinical programs in complex electrophysiology, structural heart disease, advanced heart failure, adult congenital heart disease, cardiac surgery and multi-modality cardiac imaging. We offer all modalities of adult echocardiography, including intra-cardiac echocardiography, trans-esophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography, three-dimensional echocardiography, and pilot programs in hand-held echocardiography in rural South Carolina communities and Tanzania, the latter as part of a Division-sponsored initiative in cardiovascular global health.

Opportunities to participate as a dedicated echocardiographer in multi-disciplinary programs including structural heart disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, cardiac amyloid, cardio-oncology and cardiovascular genetics are available to candidates with suitable background and interest.
