Cleveland Clinic invites highly qualified Board Eligible/Certified Interventional Radiology candidates to join our faculty as we continue to expand our clinical practice. This position requires completion of an IR Residency program or formal fellowship training in Interventional Radiology. Experience and/or formal fellowship training in Pediatric Interventional Radiology is strongly preferred as our pediatric interventional practice continues to expand.

Cleveland Clinic, an internationally renowned mid-western subspecialty medical center, is comprised of a 1400+ bed main hospital, ambulatory care facilities, and research institute. There are six additional community hospitals integrated into the IR practice. The Interventional Section has a long history of exceptional care for patients with Vascular, Hepatobiliary, Gastrointestinal, Renal and Oncologic diseases. Diagnostic imaging and interventional equipment are state-of-the-art, including 6 angiography labs at the main campus, additional angiography labs at the associated community hospitals and an active MRA/ CTA program. There is an interventional radiology clinic, as well as dedicated multidisciplinary clinics for liver tumors, vascular malformations and IVC filters. The IR staff are assisted by 8 IR nurse practitioners/physicians assistants as well as 3 radiologist assistants. Our annual interventional procedural volume exceeds 11,000 at the main campus and over 5,000 at the community hospitals.

A wide spectrum of adult and pediatric vascular, organ specific and transplant related interventions are routinely performed. GI and GU interventional procedures are common and include transhepatic biliary drainage, TIPS, PV recanalization, gastrostomy and nephrostomy placement, ureteral stenting and percutaneous stone extraction. There is an active transcatheter therapeutic program including uterine fibroid embolization, prostate artery embolization, chemoembolization, radioembolization, vascular malformation embolization and sclerosis, fistula interventions, PAD and pulmonary artery angioplasty. The Section also performs ablative procedures of renal, hepatic and soft-tissue tumors.

Clinical and basic science research opportunities exist and facilities include a full angio-animal laboratory. Our lab is staffed by a full time research associate with a doctorate in cell and molecular biology with research experience in liver cirrhosis, HCC and pancreatic cancer. The Section has use of a fully staffed and professionally managed Radiology research group within the Imaging Institute which coordinates and supports clinical research and trials. We are a center of excellence for liver tumor research.

We have 2 ACGME approved Integrated IR Residency positions per year and 4 Independent IR Residency positions per year; resident and fellow education is emphasized.
