Associate Professor of Medicine at the CUIMC
Columbia University’s Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology invites applications for a clinical faculty position at the Associate Professor level. Reporting to Dr Allan Schwartz, Chief of Cardiology and Dr Martin Leon, Director, Columbia Interventional Cardiovascular Care, the primary clinical responsibilities of this position will be: Director, Complex PCI and CTO Programs; Associate Director, Columbia Cardiac Catherization Laboratories; on-call responsibilities for STEMI patients, as per all CUIMC attendings; and Outpatient clinic responsibilities for approximately 1 day per week.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in and lead clinical, patient-based research activities in areas of complex PCI, CTO therapy, or other topics in cardiac catheterization.
- Participate in and lead teaching activities of the Division of Cardiology and the Department of Medicine.
- Co-Director, CTO Summit; an annual international course and workshop organized by the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF).
- Scientific Program Coordinator, Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics; an annual international scientific symposium organized by CRF.
- Coordinate and perform live case demonstrations from the Columbia cath labs as part of numerous in-house, local, national, and international educational symposia.
- Director, Complex PCI and CTO Advanced Fellowship program; recruit and supervise 1-2 advanced PCI interventional fellows annually. In addition, participate in all general cardiology and first-year ACGME interventional fellowship training activities.
- Participate as invited faculty in various prestigious Interventional and Scientific meetings (e.g., AHA, ACC, ESC, PCR) to enhance the international reputation of the Columbia Complex PCI and CTO Programs.
- Participate and lead a variety of regional outreach activities for the purpose of elevating the statue and patient-centered philosophy of Columbia Interventional Cardiovascular Care.
- Participate in clinical attending responsibilities which will be determined by Dr. Leon. Rotations on the inpatient service are assumed by all members of the division and are a teaching requirement for all members of the faculty.
- As a member of the Division of Cardiology, will also be expected to attend Divisional conferences, monthly faculty meetings, and other responsibilities as may be required.
Minimum Qualifications: MD or equivalent medical professional degree required. Must be board certified or board eligible in Cardiovascular Disease, and must be eligible to practice in the State of New York.
Preferred Qualifications: 10+ Years post fellowship desired. Advanced fellowship in complex coronary intervention preferred.
