Deadline: Sep 08, 2023 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time

The Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of General Internal Medicine, ideally Hospital Medicine. Applicants must have an MD or equivalent degree. Board certified or board eligible in General Internal Medicine is required.

Teaching responsibilities may include working in the general medicine teaching services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and/or Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Candidates will also be expected to mentor medical students and residents. There are also opportunities to teach advanced practice providers and engage in lectures and small groups in the medical school.

Clinical responsibilities may include work on non-resident, acute care hospital services and also may include specialized populations such as oncology, LTACH service, or consults/surgical co-management. Core practice sites are the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, and Good Shepherd Penn Partners/Penn Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine.

Prior experience as faculty at other academic institutions in general medical practice, ideally in hospital medicine, at the Associate or Full Professor rank is strongly preferred, but strong candidates from ambulatory or specialty backgrounds who have practiced as senior academic faculty will be considered. Candidates must demonstrate teaching institutional awards, completion of a graduate or professional certificate program, or significant institutional, regional, or national leadership roles. Successful candidates will benefit from Penn's robust mentorship and faculty development programs and rich opportunities in quality/process improvement, informatics, medical education, and health care innovation.
