The Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Duke University Medical Center is seeking a full-time academic Thoracic Oncologic Surgeon to join a dynamic and progressive program. The ideal candidate will have broad experience in General Thoracic Surgery and a record of exemplary clinical results. The practice will include thoracic surgical oncology as well as benign esophageal disease, with emphasis on minimally invasive techniques and robotics. Academic rank will be determined based on individual qualifications.

This position will consist of clinical activities at the Duke Cancer Institute in Durham and the Duke Raleigh Cancer Center located in Raleigh, NC, with the opportunity for protected academic time. The candidate will be expected to participate fully in the activities of the Section of General Thoracic Surgery, the Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, and the Department of Surgery, including clinical care, research, and teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.

The Duke Cancer Institutes Thoracic Oncology disease group is internationally recognized for its innovative, aggressive and personalized approach to detecting and treating thoracic malignancies, in collaboration with internationally recognized colleagues in medical oncology, radiation oncology, pulmonology, diagnostic radiology, and pathology. Our multidisciplinary group is investigating lung cancer and esophageal cancer through basic, translational, and clinical research.
