The Taussig Cancer Institute at the Cleveland Clinic is seeking applicants for Director of a new Sickle Cell Program. This position is in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology. It is a unique opportunity to develop a world-class program for the care of sickle cell patients in northeast Ohio. There is an opportunity to develop multidisciplinary clinics with close collaboration with colleagues from pediatrics, pain management, internal medicine, and other relevant specialties. This position requires an exceptional individual with outstanding leadership skills to further develop and expand the existing infrastructure. An opportunity to recruit additional high-caliber talent into the program will be available.

In addition to promoting high quality clinical care, this individual will collaborate with translational and basic scientists to develop innovative clinical and translational research projects designed to improve the health of patients with sickle cell disease. The Program Leader will effectively articulate the goals, direction, mission, critical issues, and values of the Cleveland Clinic to the associates and employees who work within the sickle cell program, to the northeast Ohio sickle cell community, and to referring and affiliated physicians.  

The successful candidate should be board certified or eligible in Hematology and hold or be eligible for medical licensure in Ohio.

The Taussig Cancer Institute has been rated by U.S. News & World Report Magazine among the best cancer institutes in the country and is a part of the NCI designated Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Cancer Institute supports a large hematology/oncology fellowship program in addition to an experimental therapeutics fellowship program.
